Rebate Processing From Home - Scam Or Legitimate Business Opportunity?
By Patti Murphy
Is Rebate Processing a scam? Read this article before you invest your hard-earned money! How many of you have seen the ads on the popular search engines preaching the benefits of starting a rebate processing business at home? I can't tell you how many ads I have seen telling me I can earn $15 for every rebate processed, or that work at home rebate processing can increase my bank balance by up to $1050 per week with a risk-free trial offer, 100% guaranteed. But, here is what they don't tell you:
You are not really processing rebates!!! You are signing up as an affiliate marketer!! You are selling products on the internet, and offering your customers a "rebate" to buy a certain product from you. You make money by receiving a commission from the affiliate program for which you sold the product, and rebating your customer a portion of that commission.
This process doesn't happen by magic. In order to generate the traffic necessary to achieve good sales, you will have to advertise on the major search engines. Do you realize how much money it costs to advertise on Google or Yahoo? It can literally be hundreds of dollars a day, sometimes more, and for those of us just starting out it is simply not financially feasible to spend that kind of money. The cost of these Rebate Processing from Home Systems isn't cheap either. I saw one that cost $197!! And that is just the beginning.
Does this mean that affiliate marketing should be avoided like the plague? Absolutely not!! Like anything worthwhile, affiliate marketing must be learned in a clear, step-by-step manner. Money can be made with a very small initial investment, and there are some great work at home programs that can help you to start your home business and - most importantly - earn money.
