Affiliate Marketing Tips - The Death of Affiliate Marketing

Yes, this is another one of those "death of" articles. Aren't you just sick of all the doom and gloom? Yeah, me too. Well, if you don't want to read this article, that's fine. But I think you might want to. See, the face of affiliate marketing really IS changing and if you don't keep up with the times, you are going to be in for some real hurt. I'm going to point out a few things that has made affiliate marketing more difficult than ever before. You might want to make note of these.

At the very top of the list is something that I am sure you have noticed. If you're on any Internet marketing list, you'll notice that whenever a marketer promotes some big ticket item, there is always a huge bonus that they give away with it. I do it myself. For one product that I sell I give away 7 days of personal mentoring. That's not a bad deal. Why do I do it? Quite honestly, because I have to. To compete in today's affiliate atmosphere, you can't survive just by selling the product. You have to go that extra mile.

Another reason affiliate marketing is changing so much is because of the tighter regulations, especially when it comes to "make money" products. There are certain things that you can and can't say that years ago would have squeaked by with no problem at all. Today, the merchants have to be careful with their sales pages and the affiliates have to be careful with how they also represent the product. You can get into a lot of trouble doing certain things. Plus, some product owners will actually boot you from their affiliate program if they find you doing certain things.

Finally, there is all the technology that we have today that we didn't have years ago such as video. This makes the standard text ad not quite as effective as it used to be. So affiliates who want to stay ahead of the game have to get with the latest promotional methods. Those who don't are going to be left behind. It's that simple.

Yes, affiliate marketing has progressed through the years and the old ways don't work as well. So in a sense, affiliate marketing, as we know it, has died. So if you want to compete...get with the times.
