How to Generate Big Revenue - Part 4 - Affiliate Products

By Conny L. Young

Do you want to promote another person's product or service. Up until now, we have been addressing the issue of product development and sales, but affiliate relationships also work well with other people's services. It is a great way to get your online business up and running, with minimal cost. It is relatively low-risk, and allows you to form a partnership in which you promote someone else's product or service on your site. Every time a customer purchases a product or service through your referral, you get paid a commission.

The way this works is that the company with whom you have formed the affiliate partnership assigns you a special URL. This tracks the customers who have clicked on the link you have set up on your web site. Essentially your affiliate partner is using your site as his landing page. You are doing the advertising for him.

One word of caution here. If you are selling your own product or service, you do not want your visitors leaving your site without purchasing. Instead of having your affiliate URL on your web site, you may want to link it into your auto responder messages. This works best of course, if you have a good email list.

Selling space for ads on your web site does not generate huge profits for most online entrepreneurs. Most advertisers are only willing to pay to place ads on a site that is exposing their ad to a large audience. Therefore, in order for this method of generate income for you, you must drive a lot of traffic to your site. Once that is accomplished, it can be a lucrative income generator.
