2 Tier Affiliate Programs - How Do They Affect Affiliate Income?

By Charles Boustany

In this article we will take a look at creating an affiliate income through another powerful income stream using 2 tier affiliate programs. Usually affiliate marketeers focus on their own personal sales and miss out this additional marketing method that will make them and you money

These days you can find affiliate programs on the net that will allow you to make commission on the products sold by affiliates that you have personally recruited. Every time you recruit a new affiliate into a two tier affiliate program they are placed directly underneath you.

You also earn a commission rate on the sales of affiliates that you personally recruit in two tier affiliate programs in addition to you earning a higher commission rate for your own personal sales. The benefit of this is that it give you the opportunity to build an ongoing revenue even when you are not working.

For example if you have 10 affiliates making a sale a month, that is affiliate income that you would not have in a normal single tier program. This sounds really great, and it really is, but there are a few pitfalls that you need to beware of.

First of all when recruiting affiliates you will find that many of them do not have the motivation or desire you have. Be careful you don't get into the trap of continuously teaching and motivating who really do not want to be successful. Because we all only have so many hours in the day, you do not to waste time on people that will never produce income for you. Then your goal will be to try and find a select few quality affiliates to work with. Therefore recruiting affiliates into two tier affiliate programs become a sorting process.

One benefit of building a list of quality affiliates to work with is you can access that list to sell products of your own, or for future products you come across. This gives you instant access to the movers and shakers that can make you extremely successful as an affiliate marketer. You will have to weigh the benefits of two tier affiliate programs with the amount of time that you have to spend on a daily basis building your business. You certainly do not want to sacrifice your own affiliate income on personal sales to try to help other people if it is not going to pay off for you.

In summary two tier affiliate programs are a great way to increase your affiliate income when you properly budget your time between helping them and making your own personal sales.
