The affiliate marketing business is a very competitive business to get involved in and successful affiliate marketers are those that think out the box and separate themselves from the competition.

As an affiliate marketer you are in competition with many others who are promoting the very same products to the very same target marketing. Just think about that for a moment. Has it sunk in yet?

If you want to succeed as an affiliate marketer here are some things you should consider before you head into the trenches:

• Most niche markets online are highly competitive, but it they weren't you wouldn't want to be involved because that simply would mean there isn't any money exchanging hands. This means you will have a battle in your hands but find ways to win the war by creating unique marketing campaign.

• Once you establish your very necessary list of subscribers there are many other marketers who will be gunning to get those same people to their lists. You must find ways to keep your list interested enough to come back to you. Show your loyalty and they will respond.

• Provide without expectations and minimize sales pitches. Many affiliate marketers fail to understand that you can sell without having to overly annoy your prospects with a barrage of sales pitches. Give them quality content in your messages and sprinkle some product recommendations and allow your prospects to make an informed decision without any pressure. They will appreciate that.

• Give them free products without overdoing it. Based off my experience you become numb to all the free stuff that is available. You want to make sure that you give products that are not only free but something that will impact your readers tremendously. Give them a taste of what to expect if they purchase something from you or your recommendations.

• Your credibility will be the strongest asset in your promotions. Anyone can send emails full of advertising but those who provide helpful tips, tools and resources that can make a difference in someone's business or their lives will command the most attention and respect.

• Put your name and face to everything you do. People much rather deal with people they know. If you are constantly visible to the masses online then they will actually feel they know you personally. There is nothing like having the trust of your customers. It will create a long-term successful affiliate marketing business for you.

• Whenever promoting an affiliate product try adding your spin by adding bonuses if they purchase the product through your affiliate link. Once the trust is there you can gently tell people about a product you truly believe in and highly recommend. You can then tell them that the link you are providing is an affiliate link and if they purchase the product you will give them your own bonus. Put together an enticing package of things. Not junk!
