Affiliate Marketing Tips - Are Your Promotions Worth Spit?

It's so easy to make money as an affiliate marketer. All people have to do is just use a little common sense, put in a little bit of work and watch the money come in. After all, the merchant who created the product did all the hard work. They created the product, the sales page, the marketing tools, everything. All you have to do is get out there and promote. Problem is, many affiliates just don't know how to promote an affiliate product and their promotions end up not being worth spit. Are you one of them? Are you not making the kind of money that you want to make? Well, if you are, this article should help.

First thing you need to know about advertising any product is that you have to know who your target market is and where to find them. For example, if you're promoting a product to cure acne, you're not going to find prospects at a forum for health issues that affect the elderly. Makes sense, right? And yet so many affiliates don't get this. They go looking for prospects in areas where they absolutely can't find them. So the first thing you need to do is understand your target market and where to find them. That only comes with research.

Next on the list is the ads you write. Look, you don't have to be a Pulitzer Prize winning author, but you have to do better than "Hey, check out this great new product" and then put a link after it. That's no way to pre-sell anything. Yes, you have to pre-sell. You have to get people ready to buy. This was one of the first lessons I was taught over five years ago by a very successful marketer by the name of Juan Walker. You have to get people emotionally prepared to buy before they go to the site or they're not going to be likely to purchase from you.

Affiliate marketing isn't rocket science. You just have to use a little common sense and put in a little work. Yes, there is work involved. The day somebody invents a push button that actually works, I'll let you know.
