3 Simple Yet Powerful Tips to Succeed As an Affiliate Marketer

By Vijay Dandamudi

Millions of dollars have been spent by corporations all over the world on customer satisfaction. The golden question 'What customers want?' has been as fascinating to the experts as Sigmund Freud's classic, 'What do woman want?' Holistically speaking, it is not so different for Internet Marketing. You can make money online in a plethora of ways via Google AdSense, Google AdWords and selling your products online. But the most profitable realm of business in Internet Marketing is Affiliate Marketing. It is probably the easiest compared to the above three, but it is also the most difficult among the above three.

Let me explain the paradox. Because it is so easy to get into Affiliate Marketing, you have a sea of Internet Marketers to compete with. You have to stand out from the rest and you have to constantly out think your competitors. Here again it is not difficult, because if you think the majority of the Internet Marketers want to make a quick buck without putting time, effort and money in the process. So they take the easiest route and replicating content that hardly do any good to their business. Here are a few tips to be a successful Affiliate Marketer.

1. Think about the customer first: Of course the bottom-line for any business is generating profits and revenues.

However you should also remember that focusing on profits alone is not the right approach for any business. The right approach would be to focus on the customer. How do I satisfy my customer? What does my current customer want? What does my prospective customer want? If you are constantly thinking about your customer and genuinely make efforts to keep them happy, your business is bound to be successful. It is not very different for Affiliate Marketing. It is your job to make sure that the product that you are promoting is genuine, really worth the buck and will produce the results that it promises to. Think about it, will you be satisfied with a crappy product? Will you ever recommend that product to your friends and neighbors? Will you ever again buy a product promoted by that affiliate marketer?

2. Don't go for the quick buck: While it is always tempting to take the short route, it is not worth it.

Thinking long term always helps, it is like the hare and tortoise story, where it is better to be the slow and steady tortoise than the pacy hare. Don't go about promoting a bunch of products in the quest for making a quick buck. Do research, read reviews of the products that you are promoting, buy and try the products that you are promoting so that you can point out the finer details of the product. Keep the bar of customer satisfaction high and don't lower the bar for average products to creep in.

3. Use the free tools available online to know about your Affiliates:

Alexa , is a very nifty tool that gives you the rankings of the website based on traffic. So if your affiliate marketer's website is highly ranked, then it should be a pretty good indicator that people are visiting in high numbers and probably like their product. As a rule of thumb you would ideally want the website to be in the top 50,000.

Forum Fishing: Depending on the product that you are planning to promote, snoop around the forums related to the product. You will be surprised to find how much information you can gather from these forums. Forum talk is often the frank talk because people are not afraid to throw out their comments if they have something to say. Remember no matter how great a product is, you will always have a few who will complain, but overall you should still be able to figure out if the product is good or not.

Money Back Guarantee: Take advantage of the money back guarantee of the products you are promoting. It is the best way to safely know about the product without having to sweat a lot about the product being worth the money. Take a thorough look at the product, what are the product features? Does the product accomplish what the demo video or e-book promised? Is the support offered for the product good? What is the response time for trouble shooting? How would it help the customer and what needs are satisfied by the product and most importantly is it worth the money that they are charging? You can almost have a score out of 5 or 10 for each of the above features and come to a conclusion.

I always like to keep my bar high so; I don't promote anything less than 90 out of 100. Of course I might be losing business in the process as there are a whole lot of average products that I can promote, but I prefer to keep the bar high for ethical reasons. Any customer who is buying my promoted product is investing his or her trust and I consider it my duty to make sure that I don't misuse their faith.

In that regard, the top product in my list is Wealthy Affiliate because it is easily the best Internet Marketing Affiliate programs available online. If you are a newbie struggling to find you way, I will recommend Wealthy Affiliate without second thoughts.
