Internet Based Affiliate Marketing - The Wonderful Thing About Selling Other People's Products

So you've heard of "Internet based affiliate marketing" before and you know that it sounds profitable right? Well what exactly is it about those intriguing words "Internet based affiliate marketing" that scare people? You see I believe that people in general are scared of success...and trust me when you get into affiliate marketing especially when it is done over the internet then you will know that it does directly point to success. But why be scared?

If you are reading this then maybe you are just trying to figure out exactly what internet based affiliate marketing is. So let's address that first...basically it is referring someone to a product or service that someone else has to offer. It might be a book that you recommend or maybe a training site that you thought could benefit someone else, it could be absolutely anything that someone else is selling. The beautiful thing about being an affiliate to that product is that you make a commission on the sale of that product because you referred the customer there.

Of course you refer people every day to products or services and you probably never get a commission for the referral, so I would ask you to think about it for a moment...What if every time that you have referred someone to a great movie the theatre paid you a dollar commission for that referral or what if you every time you sent someone to a great restaurant and the restaurant owner paid you a 10% commission of what was spent by that customer? How about all those times that you sent someone to buy a CD that you thought was great...The list goes on and on! Now with affiliate commission you usually get much higher commissions say 50%...Now that is something to look forward to.

Another beautiful thing about internet based affiliate marketing is that your market is basically the whole world. Once you start marketing online then your business NEVER sleeps! That's right you make money even when you are sleeping...now that produces a good night's sleep, in fact it would probably cure most cases of insomnia.

So the big question then is "Well Chris, if Internet affiliate marketing is so good then why isn't everyone doing it?" The answer to that is three fold.

First let me ask you..."If going to the gym is so good for you then why doesn't everyone have a membership?" I think the answer is obvious...people are lazy! The same applies to internet marketing. People are just simply lazy.

Secondly I would say that most people don't even know it really is easy to market affiliate programs online. Heck, most people don't even know that it's an option...I know that I didn't.

And thirdly there is a lot of competition when marketing online and there are many techniques, I am constantly learning new techniques and tricks every day. So it can be very overwhelming and frustrating to know where to start and which methods to use to gain the advantage over everyone else. I mean think about it, if you do a Google search for something often times you will get back 2-3 million results and along with that you will get 50 or more paid links to that. Well how do you get to the top of those results? Let's just say there are many techniques that can help you do just that and they change all the time.

So I just want to conclude by saying if you do not have an internet based affiliate marketing campaign up and going then start today! Find something that you would refer and sign up as an affiliate. Don't be afraid and remember that some of the items you will refer will produce small incomes and others will produce larger incomes...that doesn't matter they all lead to the same bank account...That's right your bank account!
